Types of presenting issues:
Clients often come to therapy with concerns over anxiety, work related issues, stress, chronic health conditions, low self-esteem, relationship problems, men's problems, anger management, suicidal ideation, sexual abuse, self-harming, parenting issues, family conflict, emotional disturbance, depression and bereavement.
My approach:
In the main, my approach is integrative, relational and humanistic. I believe that the most important aspect of successful therapy is the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. I work with adults individually offering both short and longer term therapy according to what the client wants.
As there is no 'one size fits all' approach, I draw upon a number of different approaches to find the most suitable one/s for my clients. Examples of these approaches are CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Attachment-based, Dialectical, Existential, Self Psychology, TA (Transactional Analysis), Narrative, Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Relational.
About the sessions:
Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes. At our first meeting, I try and get a sense of what you want to get out of therapy and decide if we are both happy to proceed. I frequently review our sessions together to ensure that we are achieving what has been agreed, and to make sure you are happy to continue. I usually send clients a document prior to the first meeting with some basic details around what to expect from the session, as well as some information regarding cancellations etc. To book a session, please contact me via phone or email.
Fees and cancellations:
The fee per session is €70 which is payable at the end of each session by cash. The full fee applies if clients cancel a session with less than a week's notice, or if clients don't turn up for a session. Sessions are usually at the same time each week.
